I'm standing in a high-ceilinged, concrete-walled room in the lower level of the Georgetown Park shopping mall. The space is empty, except for some graffiti, some old HVAC equipment on the floor, and a tall ladder. Every time a car turns from Wisconsin Avenue into the mall's parking garage, there's a thundering rumble overhead: Part of the space is actually tucked under the parking ramp. (The acute slant of the ceiling is a giveaway.
The 2,500-square-foot coffee shop will be joined by The Franklin, a 5,500-square-foot bar and restaurant from Bedrock Bars’ Geoff Dawson and Peter Bayne. Reached by phone, Dawson declined to elaborate on The Franklin, saying that plans for the establishment have not been finalized.

The signature Highline cocktail is a dynamic blend of rye, fresh lemon, orange bitters and a housemade pomegranate syrup all served over ice.

Arlingtonians get a new space to work and play thanks to this loft-like bar/restaurant from the owners behind Buffalo Billiards and Penn Social. Patrons are encouraged to linger with laptops and local Zeke’s Coffee during the day thanks to wifi and plenty of outlets, while numerous arcade and table games like Ms. Pac Man, Golden Tee, and Jenga make for a playful evening. A simple menu of sandwiches, soups, and snacks is served throughout.
